Self Isolation Day 2

Hello folks!

I know that it’s been over a year that I haven’t posted and a lot has happened and there a lot of long and tired working days for me that I just mentally couldn’t write. However during these very trying times with the Corona Virus aka COVID-19 around the world I’m here to write again and say you’re not alone.  

Today is my second day in self isolation. I went into isolation because I have a compromised immune system. Some people may say that it’s an overreaction and some may say “oh I have a strong immunity so I’ll be ok” well I’m here to tell you NO, NO, NO! You do not say that! It has been proven that anyone could get it and it doesn’t matter. You could have mild to even no symptoms but that could also mean you’re a carrier!! It’s been proven that if you lose your taste and smell that you may not show any other symptoms but may be a carrier. This is all over the news in our country of symptoms and cases and the reasons and the why and how you should self isolate etc.  What I’m here to say and ask is, WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU NOT LISTENING? GET YOURSELF THE FUCK HOME AND STAY THERE!! And if you are then thank you.  

This is not applicable to essential workers because we still need to run a country but even they are getting ill and why? Because we’re simply not doing our part and precautions are not being taken seriously as they should. This is now not becoming a choice! 

I live in Ontario and here in my province and my city we are under a state of emergency and all non essential services are being shut down. We are being told to stay home as much as possible unless we work in the essential services, can work from home, and have groceries to get or medication which I note some of these things can be delivered to your door. There really is no good reason to be out and about all day or at the pub or in groups.  I emphasize the efforts that they’re taking to make us safe and what I don’t like is people coming to work sick or right after vacation with total disregard for law, government ruling, health officials and others safety and shrugging it off even as a mere cold or minor flu when it could be the virus. There are so little testing kits and ability to really confirm right now as we have nationwide here in Canada, lack of kits, scrubs, masks, ventilators etc.  This is imperative that you do your part! 

Now to address how to get EI and what’s available in my own country, here’s a link to help with funds to financially support . The government is doing everything they possibly can right now from what I’ve seen and yes I admit that I don’t like all parts of my government but we’re really seeing now at a time of crisis that they are coming together and doing what they should, much better than I must say for our neighbours in the south unfortunately.  

It’s going to be hard and long and drastic measures taken but we can do it people! This is not a joke, despite my occasional joking about it to keep calm and add a little brightness to things in these dim times. I am certain that over time we can overcome all of this and we will eventually recover. This is not an apocalypse so please also stop hoarding items that really you can share with others. This is a time to be kind not be greedy and selfish. You’re just showing your true nature by doing that and what a sick and despicable human being you really are if you do that. For those of you who did, especially to make profit off a crisis and off the vulnerable and weak, you should be ashamed!!!  You should be donating all of it to shelters and those in need. Give back to your community!!  Stupidity, one can only hope, might be able to be cured one day. Yes that’s right I’m looking at all the people hoarding toilet paper and hand sanitizer like it’s going to save you from the invisible zombie hoard that you think is coming. It’s not going to save you unless you think they might slip and slide and trip over it all as booby traps? Besides can’t take it or money to the afterlife, pretty sure the boat to hell can’t carry it anyway and would sink. Hades would be pretty pissed if his boat sank I think and there was a back-up of souls waiting. 

Here’s hoping that we can make our future a better one by coming together and who knows, maybe Gene Roddenberry’s dream of the future, of the federation, will come to pass and the Vulcans (or good aliens) will make themselves be known to us?  There’s always hope in the dark, a light at the end of the tunnel, and I have to keep that in my heart.
